Dempster Highway roadtrip - Dawson city

Après un 6 heures de route nous sommes finalement arrivées a Dawson City. Western, ville de la ruée vers l'or et base du sourtoe shot. Nous sommes restées au Downtown Hotel, sommes allées manger de la suppppperrr bonne bouffe grècque, avons pris une couple de verres chez gerties et une couple à notre hotel. ET (aucune photo numérique, seulement une photo polaroid) nous avons rencontrer l'homme loup! Sans blague, le gars portait un loup sur sa tête!!! Je n'avais aucun choix, il fallait que je prenne une photo avec lui!

After a 6ish hour drive we finally arrived to Dawson City. Western, gold rush town, home of the sourtoe shot. We stayed at the Downtown Hotel, went for ammmmazing greek food at the drunken goat, drinks at gerties followed by more drinks at our hotel. AND (no digital photos, only a priceless instant polaroid) we met a guy with a wolf hat. Not even kidding, the guys was wearing a wolf on his head!!! I had to get a picture with him. 

Road trip up the Dempster Highway- Whitehorse- Dawson city

Mon amie Jackie s'est achetée une voiture pas longtemps après noël qui a été livrée à Whitehorse, Yukon. Le truc c'est qu'elle habite à Inuvik, TNO. Une des façon d'amener sa voiture jusqu'à Inuvik était de la conduire sur le Dempster Highway, 1227Kms. je n'allais pas la laisser faire toute la route toute seule. J'ai pris l'avion jusqu'à Inuvik où j'ai rejoint Jackie. Le jour suivant nous avons pris l'avion jusqu'à Whitehorse où nous sommes allées chercher la nouveau bébé de Jackie, une belle toyota Rav4 aussi nommée "the grey goose". Après une intense session de magasinage, de paquetage de la voiture et de planification pour aller souper (qui sont tous tomber à l'eau) nous sommes parties tôt le matin pour Dawson City.

My good friend Jackie bought a car not long after christmas which was delivered to Whitehorse, Yukon. The thing is she lives in Inuvik, NT. One of the way to get her car from whitehorse to inuvik was to drive it up the Dempster highway, 1227 Kms. Of course i couldn't let her do the drive by herself! So i flew to Inuvik where i met up with Jackie, the next day we flew to Whitehorse and picked up her new baby, beautiful toyota rav4 also known as the grey goose. After intense shopping and loading the car and making a lot of dinner plans, which all fell apart, we started our drive early in the morning to Dawson City.

I'm not usually a people photographer. i like taking pictures of stuff because you don't have to interact with it and tell it what to do. I do want to get better though. I figured that the only way to do so would be to practice and the best people to do that with are friends. people you are already comfortable with. I just moved into a new house where I have 3 bedrooms...therefore, 2 empty ones. I decided to turn one of them into a little studio with a back drop and a couple lights. convenient that two of my friends are getting married. I offered them a little session for their engagement photos. turned out pretty good i'd say. Congratulations JP and carrie! <3

Normalement je ne prends pas vraiment de photos de gens. je prends des photos de choses, pas besoin d'interagir avec des choses ou de leur dire comment se tenir ou quoi faire. Toutefois je veux devenir meilleure et je me suis dit que la meilleure façon c'est de pratiquer, les meilleures personnes avec qui faire ca c'est les amis, ceux avec qui on est déjà à l'aise. Je viens juste de déménager dans une nouvelle maison avec 3 chambres, dont 2 complètement vide. J'ai décidé de transformé une de ces chambres en petit studio maison avec un fond noir et une couple de lumières de studio. Heureux hasard, j'ai 2 amis qui viennent de se fiancer en décembre. je leur ai donc offert une petite session pour leur photos de fiançailles. Je dirais que ca s'est assez bien passé. Félicitations JP et Carrie!

c'étais la fête de mon amie Jaime l'autre soir et comme par hasard j'avais un photoshoot avec un couple d'amis qui se marient. J'avais donc au studio un gros nuage de ballons. Jaime est passée à la maison après le travail et à donc eu le droit a son propre photoshoot de fête. bonne fête copine!

It was my friend Jaime's birthday the other night and randomly I had an engagement photoshoot with two other friends the same night. I than had this big cloud of balloons at the studio. Jaime stopped by after work and got her own birthday photoshoot.

Amazing northern lights night!!

L'autre soir mon coloc a regardé dehors et a vu qu'il y a avait des aurores alors on a décidés de sortir avec nos caméras pour voir un peu. Ca s'est finalement transformé en un show Extraordinaire! De toutes mes années a prendre des photos des aurores je ne les ai jamais vu aussi belles. c'étais MAJESTIQUE!

So the other night my roomate looked out and saw that there was northern lights outside so we decided to checkout the lights with our cameras. it turned out to be an AMAZING show. In all my years of checking out the northern lights I have never seen them like that. it was CRAZY. CRAZY BEAUTIFUL.
