Norman Wells Fire Department!

Dernièrement j'ai décidé que je n'étais pas assez occupée alors j'ai décidé de joindre les pompiers volontaires pour la ville de Norman Wells. Disons que mon historique de sauveteur et de cours de premiers soins à beaucoup aidé! Je me suis rendu à la caserne, où j'ai signé mon contrat et essayé mon uniforme (j'avais l'air d'un enfant qui met ses pentalons de neige au premier flocon de l'hiver). Bref, à partir de mardi prochain j'aurrai ma pagette sur moi en tout temps et quand il y a une alarme j'ai environ 3 minutes pour être à la caserne avant que le premier camion parte....les petites jambes vont pédaler vite vite sur mon vélo! ah oui, parce que j'ai oublié de dire, ici on a de la neige...pas juste une petite neige là...la charue est passé! 

Bref, après avoir mis mon uniforme dans mon nouveau casier, nous sommes allé à la dompe voir une pratique du département où ils partent un beau feu de joie dans un container et après ils rentrent avec les boyeaux et étaignent le feu. Alors j'en ai profité pour passer chez moi, ramasser du linge chaud et ma caméra (bien sur). 

So lately I decided that I wasn't busy enough so I decided to join the volunteer fire department for the Town of Norman Wells. Lets say that my lifeguard and first aid background really helped. so I wen to the fire hall, signed my contract and tried on my uniform (I looked like a kid putting on his snow pants at the first snow flake of the winter!). So, starting on tuesday I will have my pager on me at all time and when there's an alarm I have about 3 minutes to be at the firehall before the first trucks leaves...those littles legs will bike verrry fast on my bike! oh yeah. cause I forgot to say, here we have snow...not just a little bit of snow...the snow plower... ploweded! 

SO, after putting my gear away in my new locker we went to the dump to see one of the department's practice where there start a fire in a container and than go in with the hose and put it out. so i stopped by my house on the way, grabbed some warm clothes and my camera (obviously!)

Sur les uniformes il y a une petite machine qui commence à sonner quand la personne ne bouge pas pendant plus d'une minute. Ce qui est très drôle lorsqu'on est tous en rond en train d'avoir une conversation et que à toutes les minutes tout le monde shake son petit détecteur pour le faire arrêter de sonner! 

on the suits there's this little machine that starts biping when the person is not moving for over a minute. which is pretty funny when we're all in a circle having a conversation and every minute everyone shakes there little machine to make it stop biping! 

 and they are going in!
